What is PRP Therapy?
PRP Therapy is a natural treatment where a small amount of blood is taken from your arm, then processed in a centrifuge. The processed solution contains a concentration of platelets and growth factors, which stimulate and accelerate the body’s own healing activity. The solution is then used to treat the desired area, stimulating cell and skin rejuvenation, resulting in firmer, tighter, smoother skin with improved elasticity with clients enjoy a fresh, glowing new complexion and a reduction in visible wrinkles, lines and discoloration.

You can expect your skin to have some redness, which should calm within 24 hours. Your skin may then feel dry with some mild flaking for 1-5 days.

What Does PRP Involve for Hair Loss?
This is a natural therapy that involves treatment localized into the scalp to slow down hair loss and to stimulate hair growth. By exploiting the regenerative potential contained in the platelets, this induces regeneration of the hair bulb environment, while increasing blood supply to the hair follicle. As a result, the hair becomes more enriched and stronger, in return enhancing the actual colour and brightness of the hair without any side effects.
Who is the Best Candidate?
Anyone experiencing hair loss is essentially a good candidate for this treatment. This treatment is best used for patients with androgenic alopecia, which is a genetically determined type of hair thinning that typically occurs along the top of the head. In women, this might look like a widening part with normal hair thickness at the back of the head.
When will I See the Results?
For best results, consistency is key. Treatments are typically performed once a month for the first three to four months, and then every three to six months thereafter, depending on the individual patient’s response and results.
What Does the Platelet Therapy Involve?
After the initial consultation and treatment plan, the actual procedure may take 20-45 minutes depending on the areas being treated . Cream is topically applied to the skin to help numb the area. Then a small amount of blood will be taken from your arm by one of our skilled cosmetic nurses, after which the sample will then be processed to separate the platelets. the finished product is then applied to the area being treated. The treatment itself may be slightly uncomfortable as it is intended to produce an inflammatory response and stimulating skin rejuvenation.
What are the Side Effects?
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks; Immediately after the treatment session, you may notice small pinpricks in your skin. Patients also usually experience a tingling/stinging sensation which is quite normal and usually disappears within a few hours. You may also have some slight swelling, bruising, and redness at the injection site, for several hours.

What is the Down Time and After Care Following The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) ?
Generally, you will be able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment; There are some specific restrictions immediately following treatment and aftercare is extremely important in preventing unwanted side effects of the therapy and to ensure optimal results.
It is recommended that clients avoid:
- Exercise for at least 24-48 hours after treatment
- Avoid exposure to the sun
- Refrain from washing your face for at least four hours
- Refrain from using saunas and hot baths, as this will increase the swelling and the possibility of bruising.
- Avoid heavy makeup and skincare products for 48 hours

When Will I See the Results?
The immediate effects are swelling from the plasma; once this has subsided you will not see much change at all. Over a few weeks, the therapy will stimulate the growth factors, which encourage collagen growth. Results are visible at 2-3 weeks and improve gradually over ensuing months with improvement in texture and tone. Clients may require multiple treatments to get the desired effect.
