PDO Thread Face Lift
What is a PDO Thread Face-Lift?
Traditionally, the only reliable treatment available for loose face and neck skin was to undergo a surgical face-lift .Now PDO threads offer a non-surgical, injectable alternative to a surgical facelift. PDO therapy is an effective non-surgical cosmetic technique that lifts and tighten sagging skin tissues initially with the threads and then by inducing collagen production. It involves the implantation of fine, absorbable polydioxanone threads (similar to those used in medical suturing) into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using small needles. These threads remain implanted in the skin causing micro-injuries that stimulate collagen synthesis and tissue contraction. After six months, the threads will be absorbed into the body leaving new collagen in their place.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a thread facelift work?
The procedure involves inserting thin threads into the skin through tiny incisions or needle punctures. These threads have tiny barbs or cones that latch onto the skin, allowing the practitioner to pull the skin taut. Over time, the threads stimulate collagen production in the treated areas, which helps to improve skin elasticity and firmness.
Who is a good candidate for a thread facelift?
Good candidates for a thread facelift are typically individuals in their 30s to 50s who have begun to notice mild to moderate sagging in their facial skin but do not yet require a full surgical facelift. Ideal candidates should have realistic expectations and be in good overall health.
What areas can be treated with a thread facelift?
Common areas treated with a thread facelift include the cheeks, jowls, neck, eyebrows, and areas around the eyes. The procedure can help reduce the appearance of sagging skin, wrinkles, and fine lines in these areas.
What is the recovery time for a thread facelift?
Recovery time for a thread facelift is relatively short compared to traditional facelift surgery. Most patients can return to normal activities within a few days, although minor swelling, bruising, and soreness may last for a week or two. Patients are usually advised to avoid strenuous activities for a couple of weeks to allow proper healing.
How long do the results of a thread facelift last?
The results of a thread facelift can vary but typically last from 1 to 3 years, depending on the type of threads used, the patient’s skin condition, and how well they maintain their skin post-procedure. As the threads are absorbed by the body, the stimulated collagen production can help extend the duration of the lifting effect.
Are there any risks or side effects associated with a thread facelift?
As with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, including infection, swelling, bruising, discomfort at the thread insertion sites, and the possibility of threads being visible under the skin or migrating from their original position. Choosing a qualified and experienced practitioner can help minimize these risks.
How much does a thread facelift cost?
The cost of a thread facelift can vary widely depending on the practitioner’s experience, the geographic location, the number of threads used, and the areas being treated. Generally, it is less expensive than a traditional facelift but more costly than non-invasive treatments like fillers or Botox.
Can a thread facelift be combined with other cosmetic procedures?
Yes, thread facelifts can be combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as fillers, Botox, or laser treatments, to enhance overall facial rejuvenation effects. It’s important to discuss your aesthetic goals with your practitioner, who can recommend a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your needs.
How should I choose a practitioner for a thread facelift?
Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon, dermatologist, or cosmetic doctor with extensive experience in thread lifts and other facial rejuvenation techniques. Research their qualifications, read patient reviews, and ask to see before-and-after photos of their previous thread lift patients.
